The Toledo Rockets have already clinched a spot in next week’s Mid-American Conference final against Miami, OH. First up, they have the opportunity to end their MAC campaign with an undefeated record, but the Central Michigan Chippewas hope to spoil the Rockets’ undefeated conference season.
The Rockets are as many as a -10.5-point favorite over CMU. Toledo has a ten-game winning streak on the line when they face the 5-6 Chippewas when they meet at high noon at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

ESPN Bet Ohio opened the game Toledo -12.0 (-110), but that number has shifted to -10 (-110). That two-point drop isn’t likely due to injury because neither team has reported any as of Tuesday.
Toledo is 2-3-0 ATS as the away side, but CMU is 1-3-0 ATS at home, so Toledo struggling to cover as the away team wasn’t the reason.
The total opened at 55.5 (-110), and that number has dipped to 54.5 (-110). The forecast calls for a chilly afternoon in Mid-Michigan, but very little wind and no rain is expected.
Toledo vs. CMU Best Bet
There isn’t a doubt in my mind Toledo will win this game. They are a 4-1 favorite, which means you must bet $400 to win $100. If you can afford to risk four units to win one unit, then by all means, have at it.
There’s always a danger of Toledo looking ahead to their MAC Final with Miami, OH, and may not be fully invested in this contest. Don’t bet on that.
The best bet for this game is Over 54.5 (-110) at ESPN Bet. Toledo is a big-scoring team, and CMU has surrendered 31 points or more in each of their last three. The Chips won’t be able to slow down the Rockets’ powerhouse offense, and their only hope of winning is to try and outscore Toledo.
Central Michigan finds the endzone at Kelly/Short Stadium. CMU averages 21.6 points per game, improving to 26.6 points per game as the home team. They upset NIU in their last home game and scored 31 points against one of the best defenses in the country.
The Chips will be able to score on Toledo. The Rockets allow a paltry 22.5 points per game, but that number drops to 21.4 as the away side. Toledo has surrendered 21.4 or more in three of their previous five away games, and CMU should find the endzone a couple of times on Friday.
Finally, Toledo is one of the highest-scoring teams in the nation. They will have a good time in their season finale against a Chips defense with much more bark than bite. CMU has a sneaky good offense, and they will attempt to take it to the high-scoring Rockets.
