MACtion Action in Ohio: Best Bets for Week 10 Mid-American Conference Midweek Ohio Matchups

Week 10 of the college football season brings the first week of the mid-week Mid-American “MACtion” conference matchups, and we have one Tuesday night and one Wednesday night contest for Ohioans to consider.

Tuesday night brings us a terrific matchup between the Buffalo Bulls and Toledo Rockets. Toledo is a huge favorite when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday sees the Ball State Cardinals traveling to Bowling Green, Ohio, to encounter the Falcons. That matchup also begins at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Join me as I take a closer look at the odds and offer my best MACtion Action predictions for Buffalo vs. Toledo and Ball State vs. Bowling Green.

Buffalo Bulls vs. Toledo Rockets Prediction

Toledo is favored by as many as 16 points, but FanDuel has -15.5 (-110), and that’s the best number at the best odds available.

Toledo is 7-1, with its only blemish being a 30-28 away loss to Big Ten member Illinois, and is the only undefeated team in conference play (4-0). They are only 3-5 ATS this season but have one of the highest winning margins in the college game (+7.1).

Surprisingly, the Rockets allow the 29th-fewest points per game and face a much younger version of themselves when they see a lighting-fast Buffalo Bulls offense averaging 25 points per game.

Buffalo has trouble keeping offenses out of the endzone, but they are 5-3 ATS overall and 4-0 ATS as the away team. Toledo is 0-4 ATS this season when favored by more than 10 points and 1-3 ATS this season at the Glass Bowl. Take Buffalo +15.5 (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Ball State Cardinals vs. Bowling Green Falcons

BetRivers Sportsbook offers Bowling Green -5 (-108), and that’s the best number at the price among our best Ohio sportsbooks offering Bowling Green -5.5 (-110).

Bowling Green is 5-3 ATS and 2-1 ATS at Doyt L. Perry Stadium, but can they cover against a Ball State side that is 0-4 ATS as the away team?

Ball State is above average against the rush, with 5.13 tackles for a loss per game. Still, Bowling Green running back Terion Stewart is one tough customer to bring down, leading the nation in broken tackles, rushing plays of over 10+ yards, and yards per carry after contact. He’s rushed for 500+ with five TDs over his last five games and will be a real problem for the Cardinals.

Bowling Green leads the nation with 20 takeaways this season and meets a Ball State offense with a -1.5 turnover margin on the road and scoring an average of 16.1 points per contest. The Falcons offense won’t score much more than that but should cover the spread. Take Bowling Green -5.0 (-108) at BetRivers Sportsbook Ohio.
